HPE Fabric Composer Has 52 Security Holes. Two Score a Perfect 10
- The Mess: HPE Networking Fabric Composer just got hit by a massive security dump: 52 vulnerabilities, including two critical flaws rated CVSS 10.0. Both can be exploited remotely without credentials, and one can hand an attacker privileged command execution on the underlying operating system.
The nastiest pair is CVE-2026-76657 and CVE-2026-76658.
CVE-2026-76657 affects the Fabric Composer API and allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to bypass authentication and obtain administrative privileges. CVE-2026-76658 hits the product’s SSH daemon and can allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands as a privileged operating-system user.
That is already enough to ruin someone’s day.
But these are not the only serious bugs. HPE’s advisory covers 52 vulnerabilities across the platform, including authentication bypasses, remote code execution, command injection, SQL injection, arbitrary file writes, privilege escalation, stored XSS and information disclosure.
Another particularly ugly issue, CVE-2026-19766, carries a CVSS score of 9.6 and can allow an unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network to bypass authentication and execute code with privileged OS permissions. CVE-2026-73701 is another critical remote code-execution flaw, rated 9.0.
- The Damage: Fabric Composer manages and automates data-center network fabrics, so compromising the management platform can put much more than one server at risk.
An attacker who takes control of the Composer host may be able to alter network-management operations, steal information, execute commands on the appliance and use the compromised system as a launch point for attacks deeper inside the infrastructure.
The ugly part is the lack of authentication on the highest-impact flaws. An exposed management interface does not need to be defeated with stolen credentials first. The vulnerability itself can provide the opening.
HPE says Fabric Composer versions 7.3.3 and earlier are affected. The recommended fixes are 7.4.0 or later on the 7.4 branch, or 7.3.4 or later for organizations staying on the 7.3 branch.
HPE also stated that it was not aware of public exploit code or active attacks against these vulnerabilities when its advisory was released. That is good news — but it is not a reason to leave an exposed network-management appliance unpatched.
- The Fix: Upgrade HPE Networking Fabric Composer to 7.4.0+ or 7.3.4+ immediately, restrict management access to trusted networks, and investigate the host for suspicious activity if its administrative interfaces were exposed to the internet.
Administrators should not treat this as a single-CVE patch job. The advisory covers a large collection of weaknesses, and several affect the same security boundary.
If the system cannot be upgraded immediately, isolate its management interfaces from untrusted networks and monitor authentication, SSH and API activity aggressively.

52 vulnerabilities in a network-management platform is not a patch Tuesday footnote. It’s a warning label.
The two CVSS 10.0 flaws are the headline, but the bigger problem is the concentration of authentication bypasses, privileged code execution and management-plane weaknesses in one product.
Network infrastructure has an unfortunate habit of becoming the thing nobody wants to touch during an incident because everything depends on it.
That’s exactly why attackers want it.
HPE has released fixes. The window for pretending this is someone else’s problem is now closed.
